Spotlight: System Shakers event @ De Hoorn 2023

On November 21, 2023, Sociale InnovatieFabriek marked its 10th anniversary with its annual congress, System Shakers 2023. The event was held at De Hoorn in Leuven, the perfect dynamic location for this inspiring happening.

Theme: the Future of Social Innovation

The congress was centered around the future of social innovation. The focus was on how technology can aid progress and the innovators who are already actively shaping the future. Thanks to a diverse group of participants, from academia to non-profit organizations, there was a great atmosphere of creativity and solidarity.

And of course, a diverse large group calls for a versatile venue. Therefore, De Hoorn with its various rooms and skyboxes was the perfect location for this congress.

Versatile and Inspiring Congress Venue

De Hoorn truly came alive during System Shakers 2023. All our rooms were used to their fullest potential, including our meeting rooms and skyboxes. A true conference! The heritage rooms were filled with music & laughter, while the adjacent meeting rooms were buzzing with discussions & deep dives during the breakout sessions. Our skyboxes provided the backdrop for keynotes & talks, allowing guests to catch some fresh air on the private terrace with a beautiful view of the Leuven skyline.

Unique Experience through Bold Architecture (Heritage Versus Modern)

There was a unique atmosphere since the SIF booked all our event rooms. And we’re not only talking about the various guests who attended, but rather the fact that all our rooms were being used at the same time. The alternation between our historical rooms alongside our ultra-modern skyboxes was amazing. One moment our guests experienced a real Manhattan-in-Leuven feeling, while the next they were completely immersed in the ambiance of the old Stella brewery, a true historical heritage gem in Leuven.
